Our Mission Statement is to help members bring their book idea to life and avoid expensive mistakes. We can guide you through the five stages of being a successful author which are: writing, editing, publishing, launching and marketing. Each new member receives comprehensive notes on the ‘Five Stages’ plus a resources page.
Editing is expensive. Before you head down the editing road you might like to first book a $120 Preliminary Session through Contact Us with Nerida to discuss your manuscript. She will peruse your first chapter sent to her via email. What she will be looking for is any recurring mistakes often made by first time authors such as punctuation, sentence structure, incorrect tense and grammar that can be corrected by you at home. Any problems that you can fix yourself will be written in a report and emailed to you.
Once you have received your report you will be eligible to have a 15 minute one on one talk with Nerida to discuss how best to proceed to get your book published either with self publishing or a publishing house. This is an invaluable opportunity to discuss how you see your work as a finished product and discuss how you can achieve it. Book Doctoring
This is a great service for small businesses to promote their own book onto their own website, business cards or vehicles to promote their products or services. It is also for someone with an expertise in something such as accounting, fencing, cake decorating, surfing or anything you can imagine. We work with you to create a manuscript outlining the important points to be covered and you provide the relevant information and photos. Once finished it will be available as a colour book, e-book and/or an audio book. It won’t cost you a fortune and it is a terrific promotional and sales tool. The objective of these books is to keep your business in the minds of your customers while providing useful tips, available accessories, D.I.Y. information for small problems people can fix at home (which they will love you and remember you for), as well as serious advice on what not to do and when they need to call in a professional or get outside help.
